Berndt Climate Control LLC provides professional HVAC installation services for new construction, system replacements, and equipment upgrades throughout Verona, Madison, and Dane County, Wisconsin. We install complete heating and cooling systems, individual components, and specialty equipment for residential and light commercial applications.
Proper installation is critical to the performance, efficiency, and longevity of your HVAC equipment. An improperly sized or installed system will not perform as advertised, will cost more to operate, and will fail prematurely. We follow manufacturer specifications and industry best practices on every installation.
Every installation follows a structured process to ensure quality results:
| Step 1: Free Estimate | We visit your home or business to assess your needs, measure your space, and review existing equipment and ductwork. |
| Step 2: Load Calculation | We perform a Manual J load calculation to properly size your new system. Oversized and undersized systems both cause problems. |
| Step 3: Equipment Selection | We present equipment options at different efficiency and price points, explaining the long-term cost and comfort implications of each. |
| Step 4: Scheduling | We schedule your installation at a time convenient for you. Most residential installations are completed in one day. |
| Step 5: Old Equipment Removal | We safely disconnect and remove your old equipment and dispose of it properly, including refrigerant recovery. |
| Step 6: Installation | We install your new equipment following manufacturer specifications and all applicable codes. |
| Step 7: Startup & Testing | We start up the system, verify all operating parameters, and test for proper performance. |
| Step 8: Homeowner Orientation | We explain how to operate your new system, set up your thermostat, and provide maintenance recommendations. |
| Step 9: Permit & Inspection | We file required permits and coordinate any required inspections with local authorities. |
SEER measures cooling efficiency. Higher SEER = lower operating costs. The minimum federal standard is 14 SEER. We recommend 16-18 SEER for most Wisconsin homes. High-efficiency systems reach 20-21+ SEER.
AFUE measures how efficiently a furnace converts fuel to heat. An 80% AFUE furnace converts 80% of fuel to heat; 20% is lost through the flue. A 96% AFUE furnace loses only 4%. The minimum federal standard is 80% AFUE.
HSPF measures heat pump heating efficiency. Higher HSPF = more efficient heating. Current minimum is 8.2 HSPF. High-efficiency heat pumps reach 10-13 HSPF.
All installations by Berndt Climate Control LLC include a 1-year labor warranty covering any installation-related issues. Equipment is covered by the manufacturer's warranty, which typically includes:
