When you call our emergency line at (608) 556-0324, you will speak directly with a technician or dispatcher — not an answering service. We aim to respond to all emergency calls within 2 hours during normal weather conditions. During severe weather events, response times may be longer, but we will give you an accurate estimated arrival time when you call.

Emergency service calls are subject to after-hours service fees. We will inform you of all applicable fees before dispatching a technician. Maintenance agreement customers receive no overtime surcharge on emergency calls.

Safety Tips While Waiting for Emergency Service

If Your Heat Goes Out in Winter:

  • Use portable electric space heaters in occupied rooms (keep away from flammables)
  • Open cabinet doors under sinks to prevent pipe freezing
  • Let faucets drip slightly to prevent pipe freezing
  • Close off unused rooms to concentrate heat
  • Use extra blankets and dress in layers
  • Do NOT use gas ovens, grills, or generators indoors for heat
  • If temperature drops below 40°F indoors, consider staying with family or at a hotel

If Your AC Fails During Extreme Heat:

  • Close blinds and curtains on sun-facing windows
  • Use ceiling fans and portable fans to circulate air
  • Avoid using heat-generating appliances (oven, dryer)
  • Stay hydrated and watch for signs of heat exhaustion
  • Move to the coolest room in the house (usually lowest floor)
  • Check on elderly neighbors and family members

Carbon Monoxide Safety

⚠ CARBON MONOXIDE IS A SILENT KILLER

Carbon monoxide (CO) is a colorless, odorless gas produced by incomplete combustion in furnaces, boilers, water heaters, and other gas appliances. CO poisoning can cause headache, dizziness, nausea, and death.

  • Install CO detectors on every level of your home
  • Test CO detectors monthly
  • If your CO alarm sounds, evacuate immediately and call 911
  • Have your furnace inspected annually for heat exchanger cracks
  • Never run a vehicle, generator, or grill in an attached garage
