Berndt Climate Control LLC was founded in 2008 by Sarah Berndt, a Verona native who grew up watching her father maintain the old oil furnace in their family home on the west side of Dane County. After completing her HVAC training and working several years for a larger mechanical contractor in the Madison area, Sarah recognized that many homeowners in the community were being underserved — paying high prices to large companies that sent different technicians every visit and rarely took the time to explain what was wrong or why.
Sarah launched Berndt Climate Control with a simple philosophy: treat every customer the way she would want to be treated. That means showing up on time, explaining the problem clearly, providing honest pricing, and completing the work correctly the first time. It also means being available when customers need help most — including at two in the morning when the furnace fails in January.
Since opening, Berndt Climate Control has grown entirely through word-of-mouth referrals from satisfied customers in Verona, Madison, Middleton, Fitchburg, and throughout Dane County. We have maintained an A+ reputation with the Better Business Bureau and take pride in the relationships we have built with homeowners and small business owners throughout south-central Wisconsin.
Sarah Berndt is the owner and lead HVAC technician at Berndt Climate Control LLC. With more than 15 years of experience in the heating and cooling industry, she holds EPA Section 608 Universal Certification and is licensed by the State of Wisconsin as an HVAC contractor.
Sarah specializes in residential HVAC service, light commercial systems, and indoor air quality solutions. She is experienced with all major equipment brands including Carrier, Lennox, Trane, Rheem, Goodman, and York, and stays current with industry developments through ongoing professional training.
Sarah lives in Verona with her family and is actively involved in the local community. She coaches youth soccer and volunteers with the Verona Area School District. When she is not working on HVAC systems, she can often be found at the Dane County Farmers Market or hiking the Ice Age Trail.
“To provide every customer in our community with reliable, affordable HVAC service delivered with integrity and respect. We believe that honest work, fair pricing, and genuine care for our customers and community are the foundation of a business worth building — and a reputation worth keeping.”
